- was established in September 2001 in order to increase communication and create dynamic networks between Finland and Asia, to connect people, companies, academic institutes and governmental entities.

Asia Society Finland has an important transcultural role in introducing the uniqueness of Asian arts and culture to Finnish society, and increasing cooperation in business and education. Asia Society Finland is a non-political, non-religious association.

Asia Society Finland in association with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Asia-Pacific Studies at the University of Helsinki organizes a writing contest for 1. - 2. year high school students. The theme of the competition is East and Southeast Asia as part of globalization and Asia’s meaning to us. The competition will be held between 1.12.2008 and 28.2.2009.
